Doctoral Hooding Ceremony
Celebration for October 2019 - May 2021 Graduates| Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 10:00AM (Doors open at 9:00AM)
The Doctoral Hooding Ceremony will be on Thursday, October 21, 2021.
Graduates should arrive by 9:00 am, and the celebration will begin at 10:00 am, at the Jersey Mike's Arena, Livingston Campus, Piscataway.
Our celebration will focus on recognizing Doctoral graduates individually. Graduates can invite their advisor(s) to hood them at the ceremony. Designated hooders will be on stage for any graduate who does not have their advisor(s) in attendance.
Please note, due to Covid restrictions, graduates will not march in a processional at this event.

You Must Register By October 1st In Order To Attend!
You are eligible to participate if:
- You were a graduate who received a Doctoral Degree and you graduated between October 2019 and May 2021
- Degrees include:
- Ph.D.
- EDD
- DMA
- DNP
- DPRM
- DrPH
- DSW
To participate, you must register by October 1, 2021, by submitting your information at https://snap.rutgers.edu/apps/celebrate.
Regalia
For graduates and advisors who would like to wear regalia at this event, you can purchase your Rutgers-New Brunswick regalia before October 1. Visit the Rutgers bookstore website for more information.
If you prefer not to wear regalia, we ask you to dress in business attire to cross the stage.
Parking
As you approach the Jersey Mike's Arena from Suttons Lane or Avenue E, parking attendants will direct you to nearby parking.
Handicapped parking is available in the Green and Yellow Lots. There are handicapped spaces in the Green Lot alongside the Jersey Mike's Arena and a ramp to walk down to the arena. You can also drop off guests in the circle in front of the Jersey Mike's Arena if necessary, but the driver will then have to go park the car.
Bringing Guests
When you register to attend, you are allowed a maximum of 4 guests. Please keep in mind we cannot guarantee how many guests you can bring until after October 1. We will follow the latest safety guidelines at this event.

Important Other Logistics At The Jersey Mike's Arena
Please limit the bags you and your guests bring to the event. There will be security to get in, and all bags will be checked.
Only drinks will be available for sale in the Jersey Mike's Arena during the event.
Professional Photography
A photographer will take photos of everyone who walks across the stage. The vendor we are using is Gradimages. Please check back for more information.
Masks, Distancing, And Covid Protocols
We will be following all state and university safety guidelines during this event. As of now, that means everyone must wear a mask, so be sure to bring yours. We will call your name and you will walk across the stage, but there will be no hand shaking on stage.

The Jersey Mike's Arena is accessible so everyone can enjoy the event.
