Program Description

MSMF degree program integrates theoretical foundations with practical applications to quantitative finance. Core courses are offered by the departments of Mathematics, Statistics, and Electrical and Computer Engineering; electives are offered by these departments, the Business School, and the departments of Computer Science, Economics, Systems Engineering, and Operations Research. The curriculum is highly interdisciplinary and is frequently updated to meet the changing needs of the financial industry. Courses are taught by an outstanding team of faculty members and expert industry practitioners.

CERTIFICATES: We also offer our degree students the opportunity earn a Data Science Certificate or a Certificate in Risk Management. 

ACCELERATED BA/MS DEGREE: Intended for current Rutgers students who wish to earn the MS degree, following their undergraduate degree, with minimal additional time and expense. Eligible undergrads can take up to a maximum of 12 graduate credits (which cannot be counted towards undergraduate degree) while earning their undergraduate degree, giving them the opportunity to earn their MS degree in one year. 

DUAL DEGREE:  Our program allows both MS and PHD candidates to pursue an MSMF Degree.
