Biography
Research
The Cai lab studies the molecular and cellular mechanisms of neural development and regeneration after injury. Using in vitro and in vivo models, combining tissue engineering and computational approaches, we aim to develop therapeutic applications for spinal cord injury and retinal diseases. Current research efforts are focused on the following three projects:
- Development of gene therapy for spinal cord injury
- Molecular mechanism of retinal development and degenerative diseases
- Computational analysis of gene expression and regulation
