Letter From The Director

James Millionig, Ph.D. Director of M.D./Ph.D. Program

Our program is an institutional partnership between Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Rutgers University-New Brunswick campus, and Princeton University (Molecular Biology Department).

Research opportunities exist across all three universities. Our students have performed research in all areas of science including cancer biology, neuroscience, biomedical engineering, toxicology, and biophysics. Some of our outstanding faculty are highlighted and a list of current students and their Ph.D. advisors is presented on our site.

I am very fortunate to be the director of some truly outstanding students. The program currently consists of 38 students in different phases of their education. Our students routinely receive prestigious predoctoral fellowships (NIH, DoD), publish in outstanding journals (Cancer Cell, Nature Structural & Molecular Biology, PNAS), participate in service to their community, and match at excellent residency programs.

Mentoring is a significant component of the program. Our faculty is dedicated to training the best physician-scientists possible. One of our strengths is our unique combination of facilities and resources across two universities which provide an enriching environment for our students.

If you are a prospective student interested in applying to our program, many answers to common questions can be found in our FAQs. However, if questions remain, feel free to email me (millonig@cabm.rutgers.edu).

Sincerely,

Jim Millonig
Director, M.D./Ph.D. Program
