There are a number of affordable childcare options in the area for graduate students with young children. 

Rutgers–Livingston Day Care Center is a private, not-for-profit early childhood program in Piscataway, NJ, serving the Rutgers University community since 1974. For more information about Rutgers Livingston Daycare center:

Lactation Rooms

We want to inform you that private Lactation Rooms are available for breastfeeding parents in New Brunswick, Piscataway, and Newark.

Clinical Academic Building (CAB), Room 7004

Piscataway
Kessler Teaching Wing, Room NB-08
School of Public Health, Room 275

With the exception of CAB Room 7004, the rooms are accessible via Trilogy Lock; once you reserve the room in the ROD system, you will receive the code to unlock the door. For CAB 7004, which is a wellness/lactation room, you will need to have card access to enter the room. Requests for card access should be made to the Office of Operations and Administration; please reach out to 732-235-6202 for additional information.

Newark Health Sciences Campus

The lactation room is located on G-level of the Medical Science Building (MSB G649). The room contains lockers and a refrigerator. Access to the room is limited. For access, SGS Newark-RBHS students and NJMS postdoctoral researchers can contact Dr. Ellen Townes-Anderson at andersel@njms.rutgers.edu.

No forms or paperwork will be necessary to complete, however please make sure to bring a valid RUID. Students must show RUID to the Student Center staff at the Information Desk to gain access to the room.
