Community Building for SGS Excellence Fellows

SGS is committed to fostering a strong and connected community among Excellence Fellows that extends beyond individual programs and disciplines. To support ongoing connection, communication, and shared learning, SGS uses two primary platforms: a dedicated Canvas course and a private LinkedIn group.

The SGS Excellence Fellows Canvas course serves as a central hub for the fellowship experience. Fellows will use the course to access key information, announcements, and shared resources, as well as to engage in discussions connected to workshops, events, and professional development opportunities. The Canvas space also supports cohort identity by creating a common place for reflection, exchange, and continued engagement throughout the doctoral journey.

The SGS Excellence Fellows LinkedIn group extends the fellowship community beyond campus. This private group allows fellows to stay connected with one another, share achievements and opportunities, and build professional networks that continue after graduation. Over time, the LinkedIn group will link current fellows with alumni, supporting long-term engagement and reinforcing a lasting community of Excellence Scholars.
