Event Description

We have all experienced the "my experiment did not work". It is the unavoidable reality of doing research. However, many frustrating moments, days, months and at times even years, can be avoided by a collective effort to be true to yourself, your colleagues, and the scientific community at large. At this meeting we will discuss best practices that will help you make contributions that really count.

Event Description

Research can be challenging. Learning new techniques can be tough. When experiments fail, which they often do, it can be discouraging. The old sage advice is to develop thick skin, put your head down, and push forward.  But is this the best way to succeed?

In this session, we will explore how the concept of “self-efficacy”, which is your belief in your ability to succeed, and discuss strategies to keep you on your road to your success.
