iJOBS has been invited to participate in The Science to Medicine Forum at Regeneron. The event offers NY metropolitan area academic institutions an opportunity to bring a group of trainees to visit Regeneron for a day of invigorating scientific exchange, and to hear more about Regeneron’s environment and programs. Here are some relevant FAQs. Q: Can attendees submit abstracts to share their data?A: Yes. All attendees are welcome to submit abstracts but if we get more submissions than we can accommodate, we will review the abstracts and invite some of the submitters to either give oral presentations or bring a poster.Q: What will the day consist of?A: In addition to scientific talks and posters from participants, there will be opportunities to tour Regeneron’s laboratories, gather information about jobs and fellowships at Regeneron, and interact with Regeneron scientists and postdoctoral fellows.

Shanique Edwards, an alum of Rutgers PhD programs will talk about how career transitions are easier when you are intentional about them and approach them strategically. Having a plan for your career transition is especially important if you’re the first one to make your way into a particular career path, or if you’re unsure about your long-term career goals. This workshop will help you navigate significant career transitions, including moving from being an graduate student to a postdoc, or a trainee to a faculty/employee, or even stepping into your first leadership role. In this session you will gain strategies for (i) preparing for, and successfully transitioning to a new role; (ii) taking advantage of, and creating opportunities; (iii) how to find and leverage your unique advantage.
