In this interactive session, we will learn from Sarah Treit, PhD of FiguresFirst about the elements of successful data visualization, effective figure design, and formatting for clarity. Examples from published literature and hands-on exercises are used to illustrate best practices and help identify potential pitfalls. This workshop is not software specific so you will benefit regardless of the statistical or graphing program you use.

Having a plan for your career transition is especially important if you’re the first one to make your way into a particular career path, or if you’re unsure about your long-term career goals. This workshop will help you navigate significant career transitions, including moving from being an graduate student to a postdoc, or a trainee to a faculty/employee, or even stepping into your first leadership role. In this session you will gain strategies for (i) preparing for, and successfully transitioning to a new role; (ii) taking advantage of, and creating opportunities; (iii) how to find and leverage your unique advantage.
