The Rutgers University Biomedical and Health Sciences graduate programs in New Brunswick/Piscataway, NJ provide personalized academic support for Master's, Ph.D., and M.D./Ph.D., and Certificate programs to prepare graduate students for success.
By conducting independent research under the mentorship of a faculty advisor, the Graduate Program in Cellular & Molecular Pharmacology prepares students for research-oriented careers in the biomedical sciences. Students who apply to this program are admitted via Molecular Biosciences, a first-year umbrella program that provides a core curriculum, as well as the opportunity to sample laboratories through rotations. Students tailor their training through selection of additional courses from a variety of disciplines.
During 3 semesters of integrated coursework, students will take 3 laboratory research rotations and select mentors for focused thesis research. Students who earn Ph.D. degrees in the CBNP track will be positioned to continue their careers performing the interdisciplinary and translational systems biology research that will epitomize the future of biomedical research.
