The School of Graduate Studies supports faculty in their efforts to deepen their capacity to provide inclusive, engaged mentoring for all students through:
- Participation in the National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN), especially the National Research Mentoring Network-CIC Academic Network (NRMN-CAN), a collaborative Big Ten NIH grant offering professional development, grantsmanship coaching, and mentor skills training to investigators and students in biological, clinical, environmental, and social/behavioral sciences. Through participation in NRMN, SGS has developed expertise in facilitating mentor-training workshops which we offer on campus to faculty, postdocs, and graduate students.

- Individual Development Plans, which are important mentoring and professional development tools to support graduate students' goal-setting, professional planning, and communication with mentors.
