  • Review and revision of curricula and course syllabi to advance DEI
  • Workshops and guidelines on inclusive syllabi and anti-racist pedagogies for faculty and graduate students
  • Policies and procedures to foster more diverse and inclusive curricula
  • New tracks and courses focused on race, racism, racial and social justice, gender justice, and environmental justice

Engaging students through:

  • Student-led DEI committees and reading groups
  • Program-wide DEI working groups of faculty, staff, and students
  • Anti-racist reading groups and task forces
  • Climate surveys and internal audits
  • Events that explore diversity, equity, and social justice
  • Alumni workshops and career workshops
  • Funding for graduate student organizations to organize DEI-focused talks

Engaging the community through:

  • Partnerships with domestic and international schools and community organizations
  • Public scholarship and community outreach
  • Service learning courses and internships with community-based placements
  • Events that feature community members outside of Rutgers
  • Engagement with New Jersey high school students and the 4H Cooperative Extension
