Mentorship 

The RISE Program Directors will continue to advise you on an ongoing basis as you plan your next steps. In addition, you may be able to continue your research remotely during the academic year. Many such arrangements lead to publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Financial

For 10 week in-person program:

​Stipend: $5,000 - $6,000 (stipend varies for partner REU programs)

Free on-campus housing

Travel to campus for up to $500

Free GRE prep course valued at $1,300

Residential 

Free on-campus housing in air-conditioned apartments. Part of a vibrant, multi-cultural community

Graduate student Resident Advisors provide guidance and facilitate social activities

State-of-the art campus recreation center with an Olympic pool, fitness center, and beach volleyball

Professional

Rigorous training in oral and written research communication skills

Graduate school admission workshops, including review of your personal statement

Exploration of career options, including field trips to pharmaceutical and technology companies. RISE Scholars may be able to arrange future internships with our industrial partners.

Capstone Symposium with both oral and poster presentations

GRE prep (optional)
