SGS Welcomes new Excellence Fellows for 2022-2023

On Friday, September 17, 2022,  the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) office of the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) hosted a welcome gathering and mixer for the incoming cohort of Excellence Fellows which includes all Dean’s, SUPER-Grad, GEM and Bridge Fellows.  It was a sunny afternoon of games and fun with a special treat - a Mr. Softee's ice cream truck! Over 30 attendees enjoyed an ice cream treat while getting to meet and mingle with their peers as well as the SGS team.  As part of the event, participants took part in a Rutgers trivia contest to test their knowledge of all things Rutgers. The contest winner was Victoria Coty, a new Dean's fellow and first-year Ph.D. student in the Higher Education program.

SGS aims to promote a sense of community among students from diverse backgrounds and from a broad spectrum of graduate programs. Events such as this mixer provide an opportunity for students to build relationships with their peers as well as with the staff and leadership at SGS who can be instrumental in helping promote a positive Rutgers experience.

Welcome to all new School of Graduate Studies students and a special welcome to all our Excellence fellows: Dean’s, SUPER-Grad, GEM and Bridge Fellows

We look forward to seeing both new and continuing graduate students at future events!
