The Statistics program is for students with strong mathematical backgrounds who wish to pursue research-oriented careers in academia and industry. Students receive an in-depth study in probability theory, mathematical statistics, statistical computing, and special topics in modern data science and machine learning.

Earth and Planetary Sciences

Program Description

Earth and Planetary Sciences studies range from the deep Earth (seismology) to the Earth's surface (including geology, oceanography, and environmental impacts), to the planets and moons.  We combine field and remote studies with state-of-the-art analytical and statistical methods to provide new insights into the past, present, and future of our planet.  Our graduates work in academia, environmental firms, oil and gas companies, government, and NGOs, bringing analytical skills learned to new problems.

Update: Test Scores: For admission to the Fall 2024 semester, the test scores are no longer required. Applications submitted without the GRE, MCAT, or DAT will be reviewed. However, international students who have not received a degree in the United States will be required to submit TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo.
