The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the School of Graduate Studies is delighted to highlight some recent accomplishments of Research Intensive Summer Experience (RISE) alum.
Congratulations to the following RISE Scholars:
Daniela Bermeo G
On Friday, July 22nd, RISE held our Mini-Symposium where our 2022 scholars participated in 5 Minute Presentations. The Mini-Symposium highlighted the scholarship and research of the undergraduate participants of several cooperating summer programs. Rutgers faculty mentors, often assisted by post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, research staff or other undergraduates, guide the summer students. The participants include undergraduates from Rutgers and from institutions across the US and its territories.
We are gearing up to welcome our new cohort of RISE scholars to campus this summer. But first, we're excited to share some recent accomplishments from RISE alumni.
This fall, a number of RISE alumni presented their summer research projects at various national conferences. We're proud to highlight their achievements since their summer experience at Rutgers!
American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Annual Meeting 2021 (Nov 5-14th)
Congrats to Amy and Mickayla for each being recognized with a Pauling Poster Prize at the American Crystallographic Association’s annual meeting! Their posters were a part of the work they conducted during the RISE 2021 Summer Program. This summer Amy was mentored by Stephen K. Burley in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology while Mickayla was mentored by Sagar Khare in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology.
Thank you to everyone who participated and who attended our summer symposium on July 29th. If you want to re-watch the program and keynote from Dr. Mark Gregory Robson, check out the video below. Thank you to Mei Ling Lo from Rutgers Libraries for helping run the session and putting up the recording as well.
Check out the 2020 Virtual Symposium website where you can find posters and 2020 Scholar-narrated video presentations. Thanks to those who joined us!
