I strive to be an instructor that creates a learning environment inclusive of different learning styles, encourages students to make personal connections to material, and empowers students to build the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in a diverse community.

Research

I enjoy exploring the intersectionality of social and health psychology. My research tends to center around motivation and barriers in goal pursuit.

Dealing with Different Levels of Academic Preparation

 

Teaching assistants are often faced with classes that include students who have different levels of academic preparation. At first, it may seem an insurmountable task to make the class time worthwhile for both sufficiently prepared and underprepared students. This challenge, however, can be addressed with several techniques.
