Master's Degree Programs

Our Biomedical Sciences – M.S. Program is designed to meet the diverse needs of talented individuals who have an interest in pursuing a career in a health-related profession, especially medicine, or research. Students engage in rigorous coursework including Anatomy Lab and complete a Capstone Project under the guidance of a faculty mentor and approximately 70% of the graduates attend medical school. The Clinical and Translational Science – M.S. Program trains future team leaders who can design and oversee programs, facilitate and manage collaborations, and lead research teams in clinical and translational research to bring new drug therapies to market.

Ph.D. Programs

Our interdisciplinary Ph.D. Programs at Rutgers University can provide a breadth and depth of knowledge with opportunities to learn computation, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills through innovative professional development programs like iJOBS. Our students graduate in approximately 5.7 years with an average of 1.4 first author and three co-author publications. Approximately 50% of our graduates land jobs in the biopharma industry immediately after graduation and the other half chose to pursue postdoctoral or government positions.

M.D./Ph.D. Program

Our M.D./Ph.D. program is an institutional partnership between Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Rutgers University-New Brunswick campus, and Princeton University. In addition to clinical and basic science proficiency, the M.D./Ph.D. program includes opportunities for professional development, global health work, and the study of health policy and management. Our goal is to ensure that graduates of the M.D./Ph.D. program at RWJMS are uniquely prepared to become leaders in biomedical research, academic medicine, and the prevention of disease.
