Program Description

Increasingly, graduate students enrolled in a variety of different M.A. and Ph.D. programs at Rutgers are choosing to pursue advanced work in film. The Graduate Certificate Program in Cinema Studies is designed to prepare these students to engage in rigorous research and teach within this field. Students interested in pursuing the certificate should meet with the director of the Cinema Studies Program to discuss the requirements, which include:

Media Studies

Program Description

The Certificate Program in Media Studies allows students enrolled in Rutgers University Ph.D. programs to earn a Certificate in Media Studies. The program allows students to familiarize themselves with the theories, methods, and content of the field of media studies, including such subfields as cultural studies, the political economy of media, journalism and media history, technology and digital innovation, media and politics, promotional culture, and science communication.
