Coding skills are now critical from many different job functions and this is your chance to build up that part of your resume even if you have never coded before. During this hands-on workshop you will learn Shell Computing, GitHub, and programming for data analysis and visualization with R. This workshop is great for people who have never had any programming experience before and also for those who want to improve their skills.

Experience gained through appointments in world class universities, IT and pharmaceutical companies fuse into skills and profile structured for pushing science and innovation challenges beyond limits and expectations. She is current Manager, Systems Neuroscientist at Biogen Digital Health and has worked at IBM in the past.

Learn how you can transition from a traditional biology PhD to a career in bioinformatics and data science. Zhenru Zhou, who got a Masters in Computer Science and PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology from Rutgers, participated in the Insight Health Data Science program and is now a Bioinformatics Software Engineer at Genentech. She will share her advice and perspective as well as describe her current job function in this seminar.
