Rigor and Reproducibility Training
All biomedical Ph.D. students are required to take one of three biostatistics courses to ensure Rigor and Reproducibility training required by NIH.
Responsible Conduct of Research Training
We offer an annual Ethical Scientific Conduct course for Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Training, which is compliant with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) requirements.

In addition to School of Graduate Studies policies and requirements, each graduate program has its own specific requirements for completion of its program. Students should become familiar with those policies and consult the guidelines given by the program.

Vacation and Parental Leave Policies for Rutgers Health PhD students who are appointed as Fellows
Vacation - A three-week vacation period is granted annually to SGS PhD students who are appointed as Fellows and work for an RBHS PI and are in the following graduate: Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Cell & Developmental Biology, Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology, Exposure Science, Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, Neuroscience, and Physiology and Integrative Biology. For students in the Toxicology program, PhD students who work for faculty that are resident members of EOHSI or in RWJMS labs are eligible.
Parental Leave – This parental leave applies to PhD students who are appointed as Fellows and who work for an RBHS PI and are in the following graduate: Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Cell & Developmental Biology, Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology, Exposure Science, Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, Neuroscience, and Physiology and Integrative Biology. For students in the Toxicology program, PhD students who work for faculty that are resident members of EOHSI or in RWJMS labs are eligible. Those PhD students will receive full stipend support for up to 6 weeks of parental leave for the birth or adoption of a child. Either parent is eligible. The Program Director, Mentor (where applicable) and SGS Biomedical and Health Science office must be informed in writing of the student’s intent to take parental leave and the applicable dates.
